Well the group stage of the snipers competition has ended and the top 8 players that will be at the quarter finals are:

The players can arrange their games from today Sunday 13th and hopefully we can finish the competition during the week as most of the players are involved on 6v6 tournaments.

Shekel joins Ventus eSports

Ventus eSports one the best Multi Gaming Organisations in the country have picked Team Shekel to represent them on the TF2 scene as part of their main goals is to keep expanding to another competitive games with great potential and support the growth of competitive gaming in SA. Thanks to the work of the TF2 community in the last months the game has been recognized once again to be looked as a great competitive title in SA and fully deserved to be considered by the local gaming communities and events organisers.

“The new year is finally in full force with University classes starting today. Along with all the other things, the new year brings new games and thus new divisions. By the end of last year we drastically cut down on divisions to make room for new games. We dropped 6 of our 10 games namely Warcraft 3, Defense of the Ancients, Guitar Hero, FIFA, Overclocking and Quake Live.

This is not all bad as it has been replaced with newer shinier games. Today we bring aboard two new teams who we have been keeping an eye on for the last few weeks. Both these teams are currently at the top of their game and haven’t lost a match yet in the leagues that they competing in currently (TF2 &  Black Ops).”

For the next couple of interviews I, Lola, will be talking to different people across the gaming community, covering a variety of subjects. My reason for doing this is to expose the “very secluded” TF2CSA to the broader gaming community. My first interview is with Yolanda ‘Lolita’ Green. Her popularity, contacts and knowledge of the SA gaming community make her a valuable source of information to draw from.  Join me as I get Lolita to share her thoughts about competitive gaming in SA, what it takes to run a successful MGO and what TF2 needs to do to grow. Happy birthday to Mark ‘Serpent’ Oosthuizen, our local pub hero.

From the TF2 community, we wish him happy birthday, thanks for all the frags!

Lolita "Serpent is the lolglue that keeps our online family together, the feral child of awesome."

Serpent, the man with the 1 word vocabulary (p..s), the deadly rocket launcher (only on pub these days), a strange affection for men of darker skin and exotic accents (hint, hint) and a disturbing interest in little girls (beware of ‘Hello Kitty’). Pondering on these queer traits, one can clearly see why he elicits such strange reactions from people.

A bit on his TF2 history.

He jammed for Criminal Misfits(CM) when TF2 competitive SA started out, after CM he started his own clan, ‘Cause of Death, but alas, being the fragger that he is, leading a clan took its toll, he disbanded and joined Pantheon Gaming’s TF2 division. He played for CM again in the Do Gaming Cup. His latest venture in TF2 is joining the MixedChicks TF2 division 3 team as designated medic, emo clown and biggest supporter.
