TF2CSA Weekly League Details and Rules

TF2CSA is bringing the competitive South African TF2 community a weekly league! With how we’ve seen the league style tournament explode the Dota2 community here in SA (70+ teams registered for the last DGL), we have high hopes for our own TWL. Currently the league will be hosted on our own TF2sa servers, with the possibility of Mweb sponsorship looming, they seem interested in supplying us with new servers for the league matches to take place (things are looking good :D). 6v6 Newcomer Guide

Hey there!

If you are new to competitive 6v6  you have come to the right place.

This is just a friendly introduction for the essentials. This might look like a wall of text, but it contains everything you need!

Once you’ve read through all this, you are ready to go!

First, you need to find out if you even like the idea of competitive 6v6 style Team Fortress 2. Once you get to know it, you probably will!

It offers a great experience that is nothing like public server play, and captures the essence of the most exciting part about TF2 – teamwork. Everyone on your team will be doing their best to win, not just trying to get a high score. Virtually all random elements are gone, chaos is reduced to a minimum, so the team with superior teamwork always wins. This is the reason 6v6 may seem a bit too restrictive at first. TF2CSA Update for January 2013

Hey everyone.

Happy New Year, glad to see you all survived the end of the world. I thought I’d just give an update to everyone on what’s happening in the competitive scene, for anyone interested.

Basically, our scene is struggling at the moment, however the mixes over this festive season have been quite frequent. A mix is like an informal pick-up, for those who are unfamiliar with the term.

The main server we use for mixes at the moment is “Gameserv Mix 1”, and the IS Pickup server seems down at the moment, but I put them both here, for when the IS Pickup server is up again.

GameServ Mix 1
41.86.112.180:27015 (Join)

IS Pickup 1
196.38.180.26:27115 (Join)

The password for both is ‘games’.

We are trying to get new maps into the rotation, these few being the ones added recently:

Process – cp_process_b10fix
Obscure – cp_obscure_remake_rc1
Snakewater – cp_snakewater

Thank you, if you are downloading them now, or have already done so.

Some guys were wondering about the rollouts for the new maps, and some of the newer guys might need all the rollouts, so here are some awesome youtube clips:

These videos cover: Badlands, Granary, Gullywash, Snakewater, Turbine, and Process.

And then a demo rollout for Obscure, but I couldn’t find a nice soldier video, so I’ll add one when I find one.

I am looking forward to contributing to this site and trying to keep it active, so please suggest anything you’d like to see on this site, or any articles you’d like to see.
