Yankee Invasion

The U.S. president will be in South Africa this weekend, so what’s a better way than following their silly TF2 rules, to show support. So with everyone starting mixes these days, all the new people (ZEN and what not) along with the golden oldies, the decision has been made to allow the use of more items in mixes.

Zoidberg and myself, ChopstiX, have taken the liberty of seeking out the UGC 6v6 whitelist and applying it to the mix servers on an initial trial basis.  Below is a list by class of the items allowed.

Why is this whitelist being used?

We decided to implement this whitelist for the sole reason of spicing things up a little and to try attract more pub players (we can scare them away using momentum and uber advantage discussions in future), or plain just to attract more players, to the competitive side of the TF2 SA community.

This adds much more value to off-classing and allows roaming soldiers more flexibility due to allowing the direct hit. These added unlocks will force teams to play more strategically and plan their attacks, because certain items could be hazardous to certain role-outs or gameplay tactics. It’ll definitely allow more diverse and interesting gameplay mechanisms and strategies.
