A lot of players do find it boring and tedious to download and watch all the available demos from the overseas leagues in order to learn from the best players in the world. It has always been a problem within the local SA TF2 community to get players motivated to watch demos and learn from the best. This is really unfortunate, as these replays from matches featuring the best clans in the world, offer players great insight into high tier competitive TF2, and provide you with a wealth of knowledge that you can extract to improve your gameplay.
This coming Thursday (January 7th) I will be hosting a public demohour @ 20:00. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the concept, a demohour is basically when you get your team together on VOIP, and start watching a demo together. This enables your team to generate ideas about anything related to competitive play. So this Thursday, at 20:00, I will be openly hosting a demohour for any parties interested to join in, and will continue to do so until the end of the month.
During the demohour I will commentate and deliver feedback on certain aspects of the game. Players who are interested to learn more about competitive TF2 will hopefully find the program useful, and become more knowledgeable about competitive TF2 at the highest level. I have often found in the past that players enjoy watching demos more if they watch them together with friends, so hopefully this public demohour can make it more fun for those of you who dont enjoy watching demos by yourselves. If the concept proves to be popular, I will extend it beyond the January period.
I will provide details in a new thread on Wednesday with details about the VOIP client & server we will be using, and also provide download links to the demo that we will be watching. Feel free to launch any queries within this thread if there is anything you would like to know about the concept.
