TF2 6v6 v2 Week 2 Matchday 2 Predictions

By Skillbill

The second incarnation of the Team Fortress 2 6v6 league started off over the past week, and thus far it has received some well deserved support from the community. Out of the 12 scheduled games for week one, the only game that was not played was SLEEP vs iNfamous which has been delayed to a later date. The league features 12 teams, and has been broken up into 2 seeded groups of teams – high and low seeds. Every week will see teams playing 2 games – one against a team from their own seed group, and another match against a team from the other group.

Better 6v6 From The People!

As many of you reading this will have seen in the previous post on Week 1 Match Day 1 As it happened, Razerfox and a few other Comp TF2 players are going to be setting up a sort of “how to improve your competitive team fortress 2 gameplay and be a better team player and get better at your class” *gasp* guide.

To speed this process along we’ve decided that one of the best places to gather information and tips/tricks is from the people you actually play with and against. If someone kills you, find out how they managed to do that before you did.

With that we are posting this Comment post where you, the South African Team Fortress 2 Competitive Community can post how you got to where you are, what inspired you, what website, video’s, training maps, training partners, strategy guides and so on you used.

So go on! Comment away!

This thread is temporary and will be removed if it is abused or once sufficient information has been gathered and the relevant posts have been made to replace it.  Site admin will remove any comment we see as irrelevant or offensive in nature.

As it happened Week 1 Match Day 1

The first Match Day of the TF2CSA 6v6 v2 started almost perfect with 5 out 6 matches played as one team used a Wilcard to re-schedule their macth. The Match days on Wednesdays where High seeds play Low seeds might not be the most interesting matches as they can be pretty straight forward though we might find some surprises during the tournament. The results of W1 MD1 as follows:

While this kind of matches are not enjoyable at all for most of the Low seed teams and we know that the skills gaps are quite big we could say that this is a reminder to those players that they really need to improve their gameplay if at least they want to be able to win a round from the teams ranked higher.

As I asked on the message to all the top teams on this competition to give some kind of support for the teams that need some help however this is a very difficult task if the player’s do not have that willingness to learn and improve.

I’m going to put together a whole list of useful links where you can learn the theory part to improve your game hopefully I’ll get it done by this weekend. For those who don’t know about watching demo’s (demo’s=the replays of games), competitive configs, HUD’s or rates I’m not going to introduce them that kind of info yet because the main problem that I’ve seen is “Knowing what to do” yes very simple there is no competitive config that will make you improve if you don’t know what you are doing in game so the kind of info I’m going to put together is the basics of each class, what is their job on the 6v6 gameplay and some tips of what to do on some of the popular maps but if a bunch of text is too boring for you relax I’ll put some links to videos as well and remember that one of the simple ways to learn is to watch/spectate the local top teams playing focus on your class and look carefully all what they do. Really guys that will be the first step once you know what to do put it on practice, “lots of practice” and remember Team Fortress really needs team work so all the team will have to put some effort to learn and improve together then your ability to play the class properly will decide how good you can become.

I’m going to email everyone on the Website’s database so for those who do not need that info I would appreciate any feedback if something else is missing that could help our TF2 competitive community to improve overall.

Cheers guys! Keep it up!
