TF2CSA Highlander Competition

Highlander - There can be only one
We would like to announce that we will be running a Highlander 9vs9 competition for the Month of October and the registrations are open until next week Friday 8th October.

For those who don’t know what means “Highlander” it’s a gamemode where there can only be one (of each class ) so will be 9vs9 where Red and Blue teams will have one scout, one soldier, one pyro, one demoman, one heavy, one engineer, one medic, one sniper and one spy. You could say this type of gameplay is the the gap between pub gameplay and the standard 6vs6 competitive style.

If you really would like to have fun in a more organized way where you can show the better of your teamwork, tactics and skills while playing your favorite class then you should consider registering for this Highlander competition.

Unlocks & Competitive TF2

Alright with the latest TF2 update “polycount pack” seems like everyone is lost again and the questions popping out on each pickup game “is this allowed?, and this and that….” is really annoying.

I was reading a Rant by dignitas/dunc at VanillaTF2.org Here that pointed out some stuff that really concerns the future of this game at top competitive level and I really think that our small competitive community with the big gaps of skills levels between the teams we currently have I really think we need to stick a simple weapons & unlocks ruleset that can help us grow in quantity and quality.

Short Demoman Guide

Playing demoman

Bit of a low pull article I’m writing here, seeing as we have so few demomen in this country, but I thought it’d be helpful if we had an article that pertained exclusively towards demomen.

One of the first and foremost skills with demoman is correctly using your stickies. While many demos nowadays proclaim that their pipes rox0rz, I can quite honestly say that the amount of situations you win with pipes, about 80% of them, you could’ve won using stickies.

#TF2 PICKUP RULE CHANGES/AMENDMENTS

After the recent captain meeting last night, we’ve come to the conclusion that the following rules should be added to our pickup system. These rules will be in effect immediately – and will be enforced harshly. Breaking any of these rules results in a 3 hour ban.

1. No more than 3 clan members per team – this allows for more balanced games.
2. No more than 10 minutes to join a game after it starts in IRC.
3. We will be abiding by the rules set for ETF2L. They are as follows:

2.2.1 Community weapons and random drop items are banned

2.2.2 Scout Unlocks: Bonk drink allowed. Force-a-nature and Sandman banned

2.2.3 Soldier Unlocks: Equalizer allowed, Buff banner and Direct hit banned

2.2.4 Pyro Unlocks: All achievement weapons allowed

2.2.5 Demoman Unlocks: All achievement weapons allowed

2.2.6 Heavy Unlocks: All achievement weapons allowed

2.2.7 Engineer Unlocks: Banned until the league finishes

2.2.8 Medic Unlocks: All achievement weapons allowed.

2.2.9 Sniper Unlocks: All achievement weapons allowed

2.2.10 Spy Unlocks: All achievement weapons allowed
